Interview with 60 Minutes About Anti-terrorism Measures now in Place in New York City
Interview with 60 Minutes about anti-terrorism measures now in place in New York CityOn September 25, 2011 Mr. Kelly was interviewed on the television program 60 Minutes by Scott Pelley about anti-terrorism measures taken in New York City's financial district in the 10 years following the 9/11 attacks. One of these has been the development of a $3-billion NYPD Joint Operations Center that includes representatives from the military, FBI, FEMA and state and local first responders. During the interview, Mr. Kelly averred that the New York City police department now even possesses missiles that could take down a plane, if necessary. Pelley: Are you satisfied that you've dealt with threats from aircraft, even light planes, model planes, that kind of thing? Kelly: It's something that's on our radar screen. In an extreme situation, we have some means to take down a plane ... Pelley: Do you mean to say the NYPD has the means to take down an aircraft? Kelly: Yes. I would prefer not to get into the details, but obviously this would be in a very extreme situation ... Pelley: You have the means and the training? Kelly: Yes.From the segment: It is nearly impossible now to walk a block in lower Manhattan without being on television. There are 2,000 cameras and soon there will be 3,000 -- all of which feed into this control center housed in a secret location.,Technology built specifically for the NYPD includes radiological and nuclear detectors on boats, radiation detectors on helicopters and trucks and detectors on cops' gun belts so sensitive that people who've had medical procedures may trigger them. Lower Manhattan now includes thousands of surveillance cameras that can identify shapes and sizes of unidentified "suspicious" packages and can track people descriptions, like, "someone wearing a red shirt," within seconds.— — — — — —Off hand comment during an interview?I think it was a mistake. While it's okay to make a joke during an interview, making a personal joke about someone is off limits. I guess you will know how offended he was when you find out if you move to the next interview step or never hear from them again— — — — — —what to wear to interview?Do some looking up on the Internet (Google.com) or even in the telephone book, to find out what kind of company you will be interviewing at. Take this seriously - interviews can be hard to get, when so many people are seeking jobs. Hopefully, the extra information will jog your memory. For an office job, the flat leather shoes and dark socks would be OK. For the rest, you need tailored dark slacks (NOT jeans), a woman's dress shirt or turtleneck, and a blazer or suit jacket that goes with the trousers. Wear very conservative makeup, only one item of jewelry, and no perfume. They would cross you off their list immediately, if you showed up wearing your plaid shirt and casual pants. That's what people wear when they are cleaning after hours or stocking a warehouse. Take the time for a quick trip to a store where you are sure to find what you need, or see if a friend can lend you the appropriate clothes. Take along a couple of extra copies of your resume to your interview. Best of luck to you!— — — — — —what to wear for this kind of job interview?I would stick to business casual. That is, no jeans, no T-shirts with logos (preferably no T-Shirts at all), no shorts, and fairly nice shoes. Even though it's a fairly casual job, you should dress just one degree better for an interview and you can not go wrong. Nice slacks (non-denim) and a nice top with decent shoes and sensible jewelry (do not go heavy on this), and you will do great. Good luck on the interview.— — — — — —To Interview or not Interview?I think the manager is a bit disorganized and has lost track of time elapsed since he got your application. I think you will eventually be scheduled for an interview. This could be a red flag as to the culture of this company. If they are that rude to applicants, they might not be very considerate of their employees. Meanwhile, continue looking elsewhere for a job. Do not put all of your hopes into this one. Good luck to you.

How Many Grams of Protein Should I Take?
How many grams of protein should I take?did you recognize that eating wholesome and lose fat can style scrumptious? anybody is straggling on a daily basis to consume wholesome and actual you are a sort of folk and if at eating wholesome additionally placed the difficulty of laying off weigh then you definately definately wo not have faith that this plate would be tasty— — — — — —What are the differences between the difficulty levels? No of Outposts and equipments are same in all levels. Difference is that you get detected more quickly if you are not careful. You will need to be more alert and play with stealth as you might do in real world. damage from bullet or animal bite increases in higher level. no. of enemies at outpost are also increased— — — — — —Please rank these college majors in order of difficulty? At my undergraduate school, it would have looked like the following (in order of decreasing difficulty): 1. Neuroscience 2. Environmental Engineering 3. Molecular Genetics 4. Biology 5. Environmental Science Of course, this is going to vary based on your undergraduate institution and your personal weaknesses and strengths.— — — — — —What are the differences in maps between difficulty levels? In the nightclub job, there's an extra entry on normal into the backroom from the bar. Otherwise you have to take a blind corner and maybe walk into a thug— — — — — —Assessing degree of difficultyMeasuring the degree of difficulty is based on the number of 'mutations' needed by the first solver program made by Mustonen in April 2006. This program works by using a partially randomized algorithm. The program starts by inserting the missing numbers randomly in the table and tries then to get the computed sums of rows and columns as close to the true ones as possible by exchanging elements in the table systematically. This trial leads either to a correct solution or (as in most cases) to dead end where the discrepancy between computed and true sums cannot be diminished systematically. In the latter case a 'mutation' is made by exchanging two or more numbers randomly. Thereafter the systematic procedure plus mutation is repeated until a true solution is found. In most cases, the mean number of mutations works as a crude measure for the level of difficulty of solving a Survo puzzle. This measure (MD) is computed as the mean number of mutations when the puzzle is solved 1000 times by starting from a randomized table. The distribution of the number of mutations comes close to a geometric distribution. These numeric values are often converted to a 5-star scale as follows: MD The degree of difficulty given as an MD value is rather inaccurate and it may be even misleading when the solution is found by clever deductions or by creative guesswork. This measure works better when it is required that the solver also proves that the solution is unique.— — — — — —difficulty understanding implicit differentiation stepsFollowing my comment, given two functions $f, g$ of $x$, recall that the product rule is $$ fracmathrmdmathrmdxBig[, f(x)g(x) ,Big] = f'(x)g(x) f(x)g'(x). $$ If $y$ is a function of $x$ and $y$ is unknown, we can just write $$ fracmathrmdmathrmdxBig[, y ,Big] = fracmathrmdymathrmdx. $$ Now, consider the derivative of $x^3y$. The first function is $x^3$ and the second function is $y$, so that $$ fracmathrmdmathrmdxBig[, x^3y ,Big] = fracmathrmdmathrmdxBig[, x^3 ,Big]cdot y x^3 cdot fracmathrmdmathrmdxBig[, y ,Big] = 3x^2y x^3fracmathrmdymathrmdx. $$Also recall that the chain rule for $f$ and $g$ is $$ fracmathrmdmathrmdxBig[, fbig(g(x)big) ,Big] = f'big(g(x)big) cdot g'(x). $$ Consider the derivative of $y^2$. This time we use the chain rule with $f(y) = y^2$ and $g(x) = y$, so that $$ fracmathrmdmathrmdxBig[, y^2 ,Big] = 2y cdot fracmathrmdmathrmdxBig[, y ,Big] = 2yfracmathrmdymathrmdx. $$— — — — — —Extreme difficulty matching a piece to the metronome (piano)Playing with a metronome can be a challenge but can help tremendously with achieving proper timing when playing a musical piece as well as refining your ability to maintain the overall tempo throughout the song. I find that the digital metronomes that allow you to choose from a large number of different beats where you can have the accent beat where it needs to be to establish the proper "groove" for the music - is much easier to adapt to than the old wind up metronomes that only tick tock like a grandfather clock. What I personally find I must do on a complex timing piece when trying to learn it by using a metronome, is to slow the metronome down to a ridiculously slow tempo. This give me time to think about the next note before the metronome clicks and makes it easy to land my finger on the note at the same time the metronome clicks. Sometimes I will even double the tempo but play at half that speed so I have an in between phantom (not supposed to be there) reference click in between the real clicks. This trick is especially helpful if some notes get played on an off beat. It also helps to break out the song into small segments - even as small as two measures at a time and gradually add the others until I can play an entire verse. After you are able to play it at the ridiculously slow tempo, start speeding it up gradually until you are able to play it accurately at the new faster tempo. Repeat this process until you can play full tempo (or faster). As others have said, counting aloud can be extremely helpful because it helps you connect to the beat in a manner that reflects where you are in each measure and it gives you another auditory cue. And vocalizing aloud helps anchor everything in your brain (similar to the way thinking out loud sometimes helps you process your thoughts). If it's a complex beat where some note occur on an off beat you might have to count "one and uh two and uh three . ." instead of just "one - two - three . .". Playing with a metronome or click track comes easier to some musicians than others. But with slow deliberate practice, you should be able to master it eventually. If a particular piece proves exceedingly difficult, do not be afraid to play it with a beat that is easier for you. Consider this as "creating your own interpretation" of the piece. Good luck and have fun with your music.

How Would You Survive If You Were Thrown Out on the Street with Only $100?
How would you survive if you were thrown out on the street with only $100?I was homeless for quite a while. I stayed at night in a secluded area in a park that was closed after sunset. I timed it so that I was walking in the park at about the time the people were finishing their evening walk and the quickly dove into my spot in the bushes. I collected aluminum cans to see for money. The best places were in the dumpsters behind the little motels on Tuesday morning after monday night football. The dumpsters were full of beer cans and pizza boxes. I knew people who knew of my situation. They would get me little jobs helping clean out basements, paint, etc. I eventually quit drinking and filled out the FAFSA and got a student loan to go to school. I now have a full time job and some money saved. I can afford my rent and everything else that I need. add sell not see— — — — — —Whats the best way to smuggle beer cans into a sporting event?Disclaimer: **I have not done this** BUT..... Good luck.— — — — — —How many beers can you have while driving???It depends on many different factors. Body weight, type of alcohol, sex, etc. I think that usually it is two beers/shots for men and 1 shot/beer for women— — — — — —How many beers can kill you???Alcohol poisoning is a serious — sometimes deadly — result of consuming dangerous amounts of alcohol. When your body absorbs too much alcohol, it can directly impact your central nervous system, slowing your breathing, heart rate and gag reflex. This can lead to choking, coma and even death. Alcohol poisoning most often occurs as a result of drinking too many alcoholic beverages over a short period of time. Binge drinking is a common cause of alcohol poisoning. Normally, your body can eliminate the alcohol from a 12-ounce can of beer in about one hour. If your body absorbs more alcohol than it can eliminate, your blood alcohol concentration (BAC) goes up. Drinking several beers in the space of an hour will increase your BAC much more than if you had one beer during the same time period. Binge drinking — rapidly having five drinks or more in a row, for example — can elevate your BAC to the point of causing alcohol poisoning. Factors that affect your blood alcohol concentration include how strong the alcohol is, how quickly and how much you drink it, and how empty your stomach is at the time you drink it. Blood alcohol concentration continues to rise even after you've stopped drinking or have passed out because alcohol in your stomach continues to enter your bloodstream.— — — — — —Do you think that having a deposit on soda/beer cans will get more people to recycle?I agree completely. This program is offered here in Nova Scotia Canada as well and I see a lot of people at the recycling depot. :)— — — — — —What budget friendly activities or homemade projects do you and your kids do to celebrate the Holidays? We decorate the Xmas tree with beer cans— — — — — —How do I make Beer Can Chicken WITHOUT a grill?I've made it in the oven a couple of times, grill not needed.
