2. Can we please have better tag wiki excerpts?
If you write are or is in the first 40 characters of an excerpt, the part before, and including, are or is is removed when showing the excerpt. That is the reason why most excerpt starts with "questions about," "topics related to," or something similar.This answer reports the regular expressions used to truncate the excerpt; in short, you cannot start an excerpt with, for example, "this tag," "this tag is," "this tag is used to," the [foo] tag," "the tag [foo]," "blah blah is," or "blah blah are" (replace "blah blah" with any phrase that uses less than 37 characters).
3. Should community wiki SO questions be moved to Meta?
I do not think so. The community wiki questions on SO, while perhaps not as straightforward as non-CW questions, are still (however vaguely) programming-related or they would get closed just as well. Meta is not for programming-related questions, but for discussion about SO. Thus they belong on SO, not meta.There may be some questions however that do belong here, but certainly not all.
4. What can we do to make Community Wiki better?
I think a large part of the confusion with Community Wiki is that there is technical functionality (no rep, lowered rep requirement for editing) attached to something that's merely meant to indicate to others that the question or answer is not definitive and could use the help of the community to make it better.As I mentioned in my comment on Aarobot's answer, pointing out that it allows people to edit your question is a misnomer: community members can do that whether Community Wiki is enabled or not; a feature that the FAQ explicitly points out. And we've already seen how people abuse the no-rep part of it, so that should not be pointed out, either. Instead, I think the wording should indicate the intent, not the functionality, behind enabling Community Wiki. That is,This answer is not definitive and needs the help of other experts to make it better
5. Conventions for tag wiki excerpts, especially on jurisdiction tags
Jurisdiction tag excerpts should be treated just like any other tag excerpt: provide the information needed for someone to decide if it's the correct tag or not: what jurisdiction it covers, and which other jurisdictions they might be interested in. For example, a united-states excerpt:United States federal jurisdiction. For state jurisdiction, use the appropriate state tag instead.
6. Character limit for wiki answers
I would not even be worried about it. Something like this is going to happen in the near future:While being somewhat facetious, there is a serious problem with that post. If the post is that large, just how much use can it actually have? Who is going to go through and read all of those books? At this point, you might as well just search for "programming" on Amazon and you will come up with pretty much the same thing.How does one even decide which book on the most highly upvoted answer should be read first? It's impossible to tell and your feature request will just make that monstrosity even more unwieldy. I can not see the reason for a mechanism that takes something that is unmanageable and exacerbates the very thing that makes it unmanageable
7. Change font color of headers in Zim Wiki
As Raphal Dor kindly pointed out on github, style.conf should be placed in C:UsersusrAppDataRoamingzimconfigzim. Changes will apply after closing and reopening zim. Note that this worked for me, while for Raphal the file had to be placed at C:UsersusrAppDataRoamingzimconfigzimprofilesNotes
8. Is there any way to view a list of all recent tag wiki edits on a specific site?
Part of the 10k tools is the suggested edits page. (SO)It shows all pending, approved, and rejected edits, and (when applicable), who approved or rejected them. There are also tabs for "controversial", "anonymous", and "improved" edits.
